So can I tell you how unexciting my yard sale hunting was today? Of all days..it’s gorgeous, sunny and it seems like there is a yard sale on every corner. And I hit a good dozen of them, to very little satisfaction. They were all either from the homes of older folks or families with baby stuff out the wazoo. We need teen and tween and a dorm fridge, darn it! And a lot of pink for Hallee, her color of choice. I did see a dorm fridge at one sale here in town and I made a bee-line straight for it. As I was getting ready to throw myself bodily on top of it and yell, “MINE!”…a tiny, little, wrinkled gentleman with a USS Arizona hat on said to his wife, “Oh, isn’t that just what we need?”. Sigh. They took it, and I held their SUV tailgate up while someone loaded it in for them. It was $20. Ah well…I got the chest freezer I wanted last weekend for $50, so I can’t complain too much.
I found some t-shirts for Hallee, none are pink. They are all Old Navy or Arizona and and super cute..but getting her to wear anything not pink is a challenge. But for 25 cents each, I can’t complain.

She likes guitars..hoping for the best here. It does seem kind of boyish, but it’s super soft and that’s always a plus for her.
Aaaand…..here comes Scarlet. What? Something new and clean? I must lay on it immediately.
And another from the same sale, 25 cents.
And this one…
Also found a creepy-hear-her-tiny-feet-tap-tapping-across-the-floor-towards-our-knife-drawer-at-night porcelain doll for Hallee. She has a couple of others that she surprisingly really loves. I got this one for free, because the previous owner obviously feels the same way I do.

Why, hello Satan’s little minion! Welcome to our home! Don’t steal my daughter’s soul while she’s sleeping, hey?
I found two travel coffee mugs for Mark, who takes them to work and then they are never seen or heard from again. 25 cents each.
Then at another sale I found a shirt for me in a color that I love but don’t own much in..
I found a super cute zip up for Mad with the warm, fleecy lining that we love for 50 cents at yet another sale…
From the same sale I also found….

Socksies, because my dryer eats them like I eat chocolate. Always nice to have a few extra pairs in the drawer. These were a quarter for all 3.
And lastly, from the same nice lady..Maple room spray from Avon that smells dee-vine. I am all about the fall scents…pumpkin, maple, apple cinnamon..omg, I adore.
In total, about $5 spent. Not bad considering I had budgeted $20 for the day. Miss Hallee didn’t have a horrible time, which is about all I could ask from a kid who hates strangers and strange places. I rewarded her with a trip Shaw’s to do some couponing (which I will break down in the next post) That is a lie. I did make her go to Shaw’s with me, but she hates shopping in all forms and this just pissed her off exponentially. But then when we were done there I really did reward her with McDonald’s and then we came home where she grabbed her Kindle and ran into her room and slammed the door telling me she had to work. Which means watch Barney videos on YouTube. Whatever. I watch the Sad Cat Diary on YouTube and call it work, too.
